This Privacy Policy describes how KnovaLink (“we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information obtained through our mobile application (LabelSpy), which is distributed via Google Play and integrates AdMob advertising and Google Analytics services. This Policy is designed to comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and to address privacy considerations for all users, including children under 13.

Information We Do Not Collect Directly

• We do not collect any personal information directly from you (e.g., name, email address, phone number).

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Identifiers: We and our service providers (Google AdMob and Google Analytics) use advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID) and other anonymous identifiers to deliver personalized ads and analytics.

• Usage Data: Automatically collected data on how you interact with the App, such as session duration, screens viewed, and clicks.

• Technical Data: Device type, operating system version, IP address (anonymized), and language preferences.

Anonymous Accounts

We now support Anonymous Authentication via Firebase. Users will be assigned a temporary, randomly‑generated UID. This cannot be linked to any user‑provided personally identifying data.

Anonymous accounts remain fully functional for app features but will not be recoverable if the user clears app data or uninstalls.

Anonymous Photo Upload & Storage

The app allows anonymous users to upload photos of product ingredients using Firebase Cloud Storage. These images are stored in Google Cloud infrastructure and may be processed in various global data centers. Unless configured otherwise, storage may occur outside the EU/EEA.

Uploaded photos are not linked to any personal identifiers (such as name, email, or IP).

How We Use Your Information

Personalized Advertising (AdMob)

• Purpose: To deliver ads tailored to your interests by analyzing your in‐app behavior.

• Data Sharing: AdMob may share anonymous data with third-party advertisers for ad targeting and fraud prevention.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

• Purpose: To understand App usage patterns, improve features, and enhance user experience.

• Data Sharing: Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be shared with third-party service providers assisting in analytics and performance monitoring.

Legal Bases & Purposes of Processing

GDPR (for EU/EEA Users)

• Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): To understand App performance, deliver relevant ads, and improve user experience.

• Consent (where required): When Google requests consent for personalized ads or analytics cookies, your affirmative action constitutes consent.
  
  

CCPA (for California Residents)

• Business Purpose: We use Google’s services to improve our App and monetize via advertising.

• You have the right to opt out of the “sale” of personal information (your Advertising ID) by disabling interest-based ads in your device settings.
  
  

LGPD (for Brazilian Users)

• Legitimate Interests (Art. 7, VI): Similar to GDPR, processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests in analytics and advertising.

• Consent: Where required by law, we rely on your consent obtained via Google’s consent screens.

User Rights & Choices

GDPR Rights

• Access, Rectification & Erasure: Request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 10).

• Restriction & Objection: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.

CCPA Rights

• Right to Know & Delete: California residents can request disclosure of categories of data collected or request deletion.

• Sale Opt-Out: Although we do not “sell” personal information, you may opt out of sharing with third parties for targeted advertising.

LGPD Rights

• Access, Correction & Portability: Brazilian residents can request access, correction, or portability of their data.

• Deletion & Revocation of Consent: You may request deletion of personal data and revoke consent at any time.

Children’s Privacy

Our App is designed for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

We use the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policies:

Data Retention

• Google retains analytics and ad data according to its retention schedules.

• Anonymous accounts may be deleted periodically. 

• We retain anonymized usage data for up to 24 months to analyze trends and improve the App. Device identifiers and other analytics data are retained per Google’s retention settings, unless you delete them via your Google Account.

Opt-Out of Personalized Advertising

You may opt out of personalized ads:

• Device-Level Settings: Android Settings → Google → Ads → “Opt out of Ads Personalization”

International Data Transfers

• Google transfers data globally in accordance with its own frameworks (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

• We rely on Google’s transfer mechanisms and do not make any additional transfers.

Security

We implement reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect information processed on our behalf by Google, but cannot guarantee absolute security due to the inherent risks of transmission over the Internet.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you by posting the updated policy with a revised “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
